While business writing is a subject best taught face to face, we offer a small number of web-based writing courses. These virtual classroom programs are designed for private groups and conducted at a time convenient to you and us.
Unlike lecture-based webinars, our virtual writing courses are interactive. You can expect to chat, click, and discuss. Furthermore, we follow best practices in adult learning and teach these courses in segments lasting between ninety minutes to two hours. We sell programs requiring more time as multi-segment courses.
To read the session overviews for our existing web-based writing programs, take a look at the descriptions below or click on the course titles to see the full program objectives and modules. Questions? Give us a call. We look forward to speaking with you.
Word Power: Three Sessions to Better Business Writing
Format: Multi-Session Virtual Classroom Course
This business writing course for remote teams consists of three two-hour modules. Attendees will learn how to determine what their readers need to know, how to plan a document, the basic rules of grammar and punctuation, and editing tools and tips they can apply to their writing. Organizations may purchase the modules individually or as a series.
Mastering Messaging: Skills for Creating Concise and Complete Emails, Documents, and Presentation Narratives
Format: Multi-Session Virtual Classroom Course
Poor documents and bad presentations often start with poor thinking. The logic starts on the wrong foot and doesn't improve from there. This course is designed to help participants create stronger business narratives. Write better emails, documents, reports, and slide decks after participating in this hands-on, three-part virtual training session.
In both formal and informal meetings, someone is usually responsible for documenting conversations and creating formal minutes or follow-up notes. Few people look forward to wearing the minute-taker’s hat. Determining what to write and how to write it can be hard work! This course aims to make the process easier. The program covers a range of best practices and offers concrete suggestions for capturing what matters in meetings.
Improve your team’s understanding of email etiquette during this instructor-led virtual classroom course. This web-based program covers the fundamentals of good business writing and the rules associated with creating professional email messages. The program addresses using basic courtesies, choosing a meaningful subject line, putting the core of the message up front, avoiding common mistakes, and complying with laws surrounding the use of email in the workplace.

“I have never attended D&I training before and didn’t know what to expect. This exceeded my expectations. It wasn’t boring. It was timely and relevant. D&I can be a sensitive topic with some and I felt like the approach here brought people along with being judgmental or condemning anyone.”
Training Participant, ICBA
“Yesterday’s workshop was both thoroughly enjoyable and tremendously beneficial. From all accounts, it was a productive, engaging, and substantive experience from which participants were able to glean significant professional insights and lessons for best practices in their field.”
Hugh H., Director of Program Development, Friends of Crown Heights Educational Centers Inc.
“My director just called me and said whatever discussions you and Stefanie had made this training focused, interesting, fun, and valuable – she’s already getting additional feedback on the team (they love the interactivity). She already wants me to work with you and Chris on something else. And she’s not an easy push….so thank you, thank you!”
Leo S., Training and Development, HHS
