Kate Zabriskie is a learning and development industry veteran.  She has consulted with organizations large and small to define their corporate cultures; articulate their missions, visions, and values; and align their employees’ performance with strategic goals and objectives.

She and her team have partnered with corporations, nonprofits, foundations, government agencies, associations, colleges, and schools throughout the United States and abroad.  Some of her clients include Bank One, Schering-Plough, The Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders, The United States Coast Guard, City of Hope, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and Microsoft.

Kate has designed over a hundred talent development solutions.  These comprise instructor-led training programs, e-learning courses, interactive webinars, executive coaching plans, assessments, and experiential activities.

Kate's diverse background is the foundation for her work and a key to Business Training Works’ success.

She began her career as a trade show exhibits manager for a national defense association.  From there she moved to consumer and trade journal advertising sales; working with the military, automotive aftermarket, cosmetics and chemical industries, and several national trade associations.  She then joined Andersen Consulting where she served a diverse client base, ranging from pharmaceutical companies to those in the banking industry.  Shortly after that, The Franklin Mint recruited her.  There her responsibilities included art and video licensing, product development, human resources training, and oversight of the company's museum.

After leaving The Franklin Mint, she worked for several national training companies, including the American Management Association.  While on the seminar circuit, she quickly became known for her engaging, high-energy style, sense of humor, and ability to make learning fun.

With hundreds of platform hours under her belt, leading workshops on topics ranging from sales negotiation and supervision skills to communication and business etiquette, she took her experience and desire to help others succeed and formed Business Training Works.

Over the last 15 years and under Kate’s direction, the company has evolved from its inception as an onsite training provider to a leading talent development partner.

No stranger to the media, Kate has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York TimesThe Baltimore Sun, and The Detroit Free Press.  In addition to those publications, her articles and interviews have appeared in outlets across industries: Entrepreneur magazine, Details magazine, MSNBC, Fox News Live, and Cosmo Radio.

Kate holds a BA in art history from George Mason University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
