Course Overview

“On Your Feet: Train-the-Trainer Boot Camp” is an immersive, hands-on program crafted to give trainers the skills and confidence to deliver effective, engaging, and participant-focused training sessions. Over five focused days, participants will explore key concepts and frameworks such as FOCUS, the Training Wheel, the Training Sandwich, and the SCENE model, all designed to build a strong foundation for training excellence. The course is structured to progress from fundamental principles of adult learning and classroom management to advanced instructional design, activity development, and evaluation techniques.

Day one establishes a collaborative environment, with icebreakers and community-building exercises that set a positive tone. Participants will learn essential principles of adult learning and strategies for managing different learner engagement levels and challenging behaviors. Day two shifts the focus to enhancing learner engagement through interactive methods, including movement-based learning, listening skills, and effective debriefs. Participants also learn to adapt their delivery to accommodate various learning styles, ensuring a dynamic learning experience.

Days three and four delve into instructional design, with Day three focusing on experiential learning, game creation, and activity variation, while introducing tools for instructional support, including AI for content adaptation and learner engagement. Day four covers program mapping, needs assessment, and developing clear, outcome-focused objectives. Participants will build and refine a training program, preparing it for real-world implementation with supporting materials.

The final day is dedicated to applying and fine-tuning these skills. Through pilot sessions, teach-backs, and constructive feedback exercises, participants will practice delivery, learn to gather and use participant feedback, and complete post-training evaluations. By the program’s conclusion, trainers will be equipped with comprehensive techniques for creating impactful training sessions, enhancing engagement, and ensuring knowledge retention. This boot camp is ideal for trainers at all levels who seek to master the art of effective training design and delivery.
