Course Overview
Presenting can feel a lot like improv—a chance to react in real time, connect with your audience, and keep things fresh and engaging. This full-day workshop is designed to transform presentation jitters into something fun and manageable using the principles of improv comedy. Participants will dive into techniques like “Yes, And” to develop adaptability and “Listen Before You Respond” to ensure they’re genuinely tuned into their audience’s needs.
Through hands-on activities, participants will practice structuring their message, adding personal touches, and speaking with confidence and clarity. In a section focused on “Show, Don’t Tell,” they’ll explore using gestures, movement, and facial expressions to create a more dynamic delivery beyond words alone. The workshop also covers strategies for handling audience interactions, managing challenging questions, and keeping a positive flow throughout the presentation.
As the day unfolds, participants will experience several team-building improv exercises, including “Emotional Rollercoaster,” where they practice shifting tone and style in real time, and “Genre Replay,” which allows for creative expression while reinforcing core presentation skills. Each activity encourages participants to experiment, explore, and support each other, making the workshop an engaging and collaborative experience.
By the end of the day, teams will leave feeling more connected, confident, and equipped to deliver presentations with a newfound dash of improv flair. This workshop is not just about refining presentation skills; it’s about embracing spontaneity, connecting meaningfully with others, and transforming every speaking opportunity into a memorable, engaging experience.
