Human Resources Training Courses and Workshops

The Benefits of Human Resources Training

Human resources training courses can help those formally charged with talent management responsibilities and others learn new information and best practices for managing the people function in an organization.

Whether it’s establishing a comprehensive interviewing process, providing compliance courses, or determining a people strategy, targeted workshops can make a difference.

About Our Human Resources Training Programs

Recruiting, interviewing skills, harassment prevention, performance management, and orientation programs are a few of the topics with which we can help organizations train their employees.

Our approach is interactive, engaging, and hands on. We will work with you to understand your goals and objectives, tailor our approach, and deliver a program that hits the mark.

Our Workshop Facilitators

Our workshop facilitators have established human resources departments, set up corporate universities, and designed a range of talent development and compliance training solutions. They are comfortable with both one-day programs and large projects.

Workshop Descriptions

Finders Keepers: How to Interview and Hire Well

Avoid costly interviewing mistakes and teach your team how to identify top talent during this practical course designed to improve interviewing skills. During this program, participants will discuss the steps they should take before seeking candidates, identify best practices for keeping the process running smoothly, understand the questions they should and should not ask, practice techniques for getting to the truth, and explore best practices for checking references.

Millennial Matters: Attracting a New Generation of Talent

While technology has changed how most organizations recruit new employees, the candidates’ wants and needs have also altered the process.  This interactive workshop addresses tactics for recruiting younger Millennials and the digital natives who make up Generation Z. During this program, we’ll discuss what matters to these groups and what successful organizations have done to attract and retain young talent.

First Things First: Creating Effective Orientation Programs

A good onboarding and orientation program can mean the difference between an engaged employee and someone who has checked out less than 60 days into the job. This course tackles the ins and outs of creating an effective onboarding program. During this workshop, we’ll define goals, establish processes, and develop templates to promote the successful launch of new employees.

Orchestrating Excellence: Understanding and Implementing a Performance Management System

A good performance management system that has the full support of management and an organization’s employees can mean the difference between ho-hum performance or whistling a happy tune. This workshop examines the elements that comprise an effective performance management system and provides a basic roadmap for building a process that correlates employees’ work with the organization’s strategic and tactical goals. The program also lays out a procedure for developing an enterprise-wide competency model, identifying essential roles and competencies needed in those roles, managing organizational changes, identifying essential formal and informal management activities, and considering interviewing and succession planning as part of performance management.

No, It's Not Okay: Understanding and Avoiding Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

Sexual harassment awareness training is not a “nice to have” but a “need to have.” Although in many states, the training is required by law, regardless of mandates, all employers and their staffs benefit from a workplace free of unwelcome advances. This interactive workshop is suited for all employees and is designed to be more than a “fact dump” or simple compliance training. As a result of the course, participants should understand the value of a no-tolerance approach to sexual harassment and how their behavior directly impacts the culture in which they work.

Ouch!: Recognizing and Preventing Sexual Harassment

This sexual harassment prevention course is designed for managers, supervisors, and others with direct reports. In addition to covering federal and state laws governing employer obligations, this course examines the relationship between organizational culture and employee behavior and the risk factors that can increase or decrease an organization’s exposure. The program also reviews the organization’s policy and reporting and investigation procedures.
