Course Overview
This online team leadership course is a partner course designed for managers and professionals who need a stronger grasp of what makes teams work, and what makes them harder to lead than a set of individual contributors. It introduces the realities of shared responsibility, shared accountability, and the communication and politics that show up whenever work is done through a team.
This is a partner course offered alongside our instructor-led programs. It provides a self-paced option for building team leadership skill on a flexible schedule, especially for learners moving into team leadership or stepping into project and task leadership without formal training.
The course covers team types and characteristics, the benefits and challenges of empowered teams, sources of team motivation, and a classic model of team development. It also introduces a practical checklist for team leaders, discusses approaches for managing conflict in teams, and addresses the different considerations involved in leading virtual teams.
Who This Helps
This course is a strong fit for new and experienced managers who lead through teams, as well as professionals who take on project leadership, cross-functional coordination, or task leadership where influence matters as much as authority.
