Course Overview
“Opening the Window: Skills for Developing Self-Awareness and New Perspectives on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” is a two-hour virtual session designed to build greater self-awareness and strengthen DEI practices in the workplace. This course helps participants understand the complexities of human perception, the neuroscience behind behaviors, and how bias and blind spots impact workplace dynamics.
The program begins with an exploration of perception and its role in shaping reality. Participants will gain insights into how the brain processes information, influences emotional responses, and reinforces behaviors, while also learning practical techniques to “rewire” thought patterns.
The course transitions into mindset work, helping participants understand the language and beliefs associated with growth versus fixed mindsets and their influence on inclusivity. Participants will also explore the emotional dynamics of change and loss and how these feelings can distort perceptions of fairness.
The session concludes with actionable steps for expanding relationship circles to reduce workplace silos and cliques. Participants will learn strategies for addressing bias, mitigating microaggressions, and fostering environments that encourage diverse perspectives and collaborative teamwork.
By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the tools to develop greater self-awareness, challenge biases, and create more inclusive teams.
