Course Overview

Research shows that members of high-performance teams rely on their strengths 75% of their time.  
The general population, however, reports that it leans on its strengths less than 20% of the time.  And why?  
Too often people focus on what they don’t do well instead of what they do.  
Based on Gallup’s Strengthsfinder 2.0, this program will help the members of your team recognize their talents, build them into strengths, and work together as a team.
Program Objectives
At this program's conclusion, participants should be able to:
  • Articulate their top five strengths.
  • Explain their dominant talents.
  • Put their talents to use in the workplace and at home.
  • Appreciate and leverage the strengths of others.
  • Recognize a team’s assets and deficits.
The following outline highlights some of the course's key learning points. As part of your training program, we will modify content as needed to meet your business objectives. Upon request, we will provide you with a copy of the participant materials prior to the session(s).

Workshop Outline

Get Ready to Race: Understanding Strengthsfinder
The program begins by exploring the background and history of strength-based leadership and the value of focusing on strengths. Through a series of exercises, the group will identify how their group could benefit from using the Strengthsfinder process.  
Discover Your Inner Thoroughbred: Reflecting on Your Best
During this segment, participants will reflect on when they are at their personal best. They will also discuss the difference between talents and skills. Finally, they will look at the formula for taking advantage of their natural talents and turning them into strengths.
Betting on 5 out of 34: Examining Your Talents
This section of the course examines the 34 Strengthsfinder talents and each participant’s top five. The group will then discuss how their talents have influenced their choices. Further, they will explore how they can capitalize on their talents and start building them into strengths.
Avoiding Injury: Dealing with Deficiencies and Overreliance
It’s never fun to do something poorly. Likewise, too much of a good thing is not a good thing. During this portion of the workshop, the group will discuss actions they can take to compensate for their weaknesses.
And They’re Off!: Racing Together
Great teams share several elements. During this seminar segment, participants will look at the common characteristics great teams share and changes they may need to make to their current working relationships.
Keep Champing at the Bit: Remaining Eager and Engaged
This program concludes with a discussion about employee engagement and actions participants can take to bring out the best in themselves and each other. 

Participants will leave this active training session with a thorough understanding of their natural gifts along with practical tools they can immediately apply at work and home.
