Course Overview
This online emotional intelligence course for project managers is delivered through one of our partner course libraries. It is for the project moments where progress depends on judgment, tone, and timing, not a better plan. A sponsor challenges a risk update. A team member resists a change in direction. A vendor conversation turns tense. Conflict shows up, and the work still has to move.
We offer partner courses alongside our instructor-led programs because not every need fits a scheduled workshop. Some professionals need to work at their own pace around travel and deadlines. Others are working independently, without a team to train with. When a course meets our standards and fills a genuine gap, we make it available here.
The course introduces the core concepts behind emotional intelligence and connects them directly to project leadership. Learners will look at why emotional intelligence affects managerial performance, review nine emotional intelligence factors, and apply those factors to realistic project scenarios. The emphasis stays on the relationships project managers manage every day, including team members, stakeholders, vendors, and sponsors.
Who This Helps
This course is a strong fit for project managers who work across competing priorities, tight timelines, and high-stakes relationships, where tone and timing affect outcomes as much as the plan does. It is especially useful for professionals who manage sponsors, stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams and want more control in tense conversations, conflict situations, and emotionally charged project moments.
What Learners Will Do Better
Recognize how emotional intelligence affects project communication, conflict, and trust.
Identify patterns in personal reactions that can derail conversations under pressure.
Apply nine emotional intelligence factors to realistic project scenarios.
Handle conflict more effectively with team members, stakeholders, vendors, and sponsors.
Use emotional control to support better decisions, stronger follow-through, and steadier relationships.
How Teams Get Value From It
Teams use this course to strengthen the people side of project execution by creating a shared language for emotional awareness, self-control, and conflict response. Common approaches include pairing the course with a short manager-led check-in to discuss application on active projects, using a simple reflection prompt after each section, and aligning expectations for sponsor updates, vendor conversations, and conflict escalation paths.
