Steve Yacovelli

Steve Yacovelli is a high-energy, hard-working, seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in training and development and change management. 

He is an expert at presentation design and delivery, content design and delivery, web-based training design and delivery, and creating overall learning strategies.

Early in his career, he worked as a curriculum designer and instructor for The John H. Harland Company.  There he was known for his ability to engage and teach complex, technical, and analytical concepts to students at all levels of understanding and experience in the financial industry.

Later he served as a leadership development consultant for Disney Cruise Line where he created and delivered leadership training programs as well as soft-skills and technical training courses for employees representing over 50 different nationalities.  He also worked for the Walt Disney Company on various global projects focused on learning and development and change-management initiatives.

IBM Global Services hired him to oversee training and change-management initiatives for several Fortune 500 companies.  While with IBM Global Services, he also developed a virtual new-hire orientation program and implemented several learning management systems (LMS) and virtual classroom systems.  Additionally, he facilitated a major change-management program for one of the largest utility companies in the United States.

Tupperware Brands Corporation recruited him as the Manager of Leadership Development Worldwide. In this capacity, he designed, developed, and delivered strategic learning programs for entry-level, mid-level, and executive-level leaders globally.
He has served on the faculty of several universities including The University of Central Florida, Nova Southeastern University, and George Washington University.

Innovate: Journal of Online Education, the Journal of Teaching for International BusinessThe College & University Media Review, and ATD’s T&D Magazine are among the periodicals that have published his work. He has also written several books on understanding learners’ attitudes toward e-learning as well as effectively evaluating the quality and level of student engagement in online learning.

Steve holds a bachelor of science in speech communication from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.  He received his master of arts in educational policy and leadership development from The Ohio State University.  He earned his doctor of education in instructional technology and distance education from Nova Southeastern University.
