Program Overview One of the key qualities of highly successful leaders is their ability to coach effectively. In this session, leaders learn how to successfully coach using various tools and techniques. The following outline highlights some of the course's key learning points. As part of your training program, we will modify content as needed to meet your business objectives. Course Outline Knowing the Game Plan: The What and Why of Coaching In this introductory unit, participants will have an in-depth discussion of coaching and its value and importance to an organization. The trainer will explain the difference between coaching and counseling.
Practices and Penalties: What to Do and What Not to Ever Do In this lesson, participants learn the many facets of coaching including what to do and what not to do. They will be given dozens of techniques and tools to use to become highly effective coaches. Also, they will understand the actions and behaviors they must avoid while functioning as coaches.
No Whistle Needed: Effective Coaching Communication This component covers the physical elements of coaching including the coach's tone of voice, word choice, body language, and timing. Participants will gain an understanding of how to devise coaching strategies and anticipate pacing requirements that will be effective with a variety of clients.
Hall-of-Fame Performance: The Coach Model This segment provides participants with a proven recipe for success called the COACH model. They will be given a specific form to follow in order to ensure maximum effectiveness in their coaching endeavors.
Practice Makes Perfect: Putting Knowledge into Play In this final section, participants are given the chance to coach using real-life situations. They will be videotaped and given constructive feedback on what went well and what might need to be improved. Watching their own coaching on video is a powerful instructional opportunity for participants to assess and improve their coaching styles. By the end of this program, participants will have the knowledge and skills to become much more effective coaches. Also, they will know how to use the coaching tools and techniques to drive productivity and effectiveness in their workplaces.
