  • Identify the myths surrounding sexual harassment.
  • Review the laws and basic court decisions about sexual harassment.
  • Identify what is and what is not sexual harassment.
  • Practice dealing with sexual harassment.
  • Document their understanding of sexual harassment.

Course Outline

Why I Am Here: The Importance of Sexual-Harassment Prevention Training
This introductory discussion explores why sexual-harassment prevention training is important in the workplace and the goals and objectives of the program.

The Rules: Laws and Case History
In this portion of the program, participants will explore the background surrounding sexual-harassment prevention. They will review the concepts of physical, verbal, and non-verbal harassment, quid pro quo, and what factors contribute to a hostile environment.

What Would You Do?: Case Studies
Using sexual-harassment prevention case studies, participants will have an opportunity to test their knowledge of the law by determining how they would handle a variety of workplace situations.

Touching, Talking, Gawking: What's Appropriate and What Isn't
In this segment, we will review appropriate workplace behavior. From jokes to innuendos, participants will have a clear idea of what is and is not allowed.

It Happened: Now What?
In this final part of the program, participants will discuss steps to take when harassment occurs. The program will address personal harassment and harassment directed at someone else.

At this program's conclusion, participants will have a clear understanding of what sexual harassment is and how to handle it should it occur in the workplace.
