Surviving in The Communication Jungle ®: Concrete Tactics for Improving Relationships with Others
Surviving in The Communication Jungle is a program based on the Business Training Works' instrument The Communication Jungle. In this program participants will learn how they prefer to think and behave, the strengths of those styles, and how they can adjust to work better with people with styles different from their own.

Program Objectives
At the program's conclusion, participants should be able to:
- Explain what a behavioral style is.
- Describe each of the styles in The Communication Jungle.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of their own styles.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of other styles.
- Demonstrate how to adjust their styles to work better with people with different styles.
- Develop a personal action plan for using The Communication Jungle.
The following outline highlights some of the course's key learning points. As part of your training program, we will modify content as needed to meet your business objectives. Upon request, we will provide you with a copy of the participant materials prior to the session(s).
Course Outline
So Hi There: What's Your Style?
This program begins with each participant completing a style profile.
In the Jungle: The Lion Sleeps, the Peacock Struts, Etc.
In this segment of the program, participants will learn about the four major styles in The Communication Jungle. They will explore the strengths and weaknesses of each.
Working with Others: How to Adapt
During this part of the program, through case studies, the participants will look at group dynamics and how small changes can influence how others act and react to various situations. Examples include performance feedback, team meetings, and personal interactions.
What Am I Going to Do with This?: Action Planning
In this final discussion, participants will spend time creating an action plan to map out how they plan to use what they've learned back in the workplace.
At the program's conclusion, participants should have a clear idea what behavioral styles are and how they can change their behavior to work better with other people.
