Charlie Allenson

Charlie Allenson uses the techniques of improvisational comedy to increase mental agility, enhance interpersonal communications, foster more creative thinking, and strengthen the ties necessary for team building. The techniques from his programs result in people performing at a higher level in a variety of fields: law, sales, marketing, management, administration, and others. He has worked with an extraordinary range of participants including financial executives, media executives, forensic engineers, and a Canadian Supreme Court justice.

Charlie's experience in improv comedy comes from training and performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City. Alumni of the UCB include Amy Poehler of Saturday Night Live and cast members of the Daily Show, to name a few.

As a business executive he won multiple advertising awards, writing for people such as Robin Williams, Pee Herman, The Fruit of the Loom Guys, and Charlie the Tuna.

His understanding of strategic thinking, the human condition, and creativity coupled with improvisational comedy give Charlie the ability to help groups improve communication, enhance creativity, and build morale.

Some of the organizations that have partnered with him include GE, Accenture, Aflac, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, New York Presbyterian Hospital, the law firm of Lowenstein Sandler, amFar (The American Foundation for AIDS Research), American Lawyer Media, The Aon Group and Coach Leather.

Charlie is a graduate of Lehman College of the City University of New York, a songwriter with two title cuts on two very obscure country albums, and lives in New York City where improv is the key to survival.
